Telling the Story of a Resilient River Network – Our Ongoing Work with the River Severn Partnership

We are proud to be working with the River Severn Partnership on a series of case study films that showcase the innovative, collaborative efforts being made to future-proof one of Britain’s most important river catchments.

With climate change driving more extreme and frequent weather patterns, the River Severn Partnership brings together organisations from across Mid Wales, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and Gloucestershire. Their shared ambition: to create the UK’s most vibrant and resilient river network—balancing flood resilience, sustainable water management, and environmental enhancement with community and economic wellbeing.

The Project

Our role has been to translate this complex and visionary programme into a compelling series of short films. Each case study video focuses on a different theme or location within the Severn Catchment, highlighting real-world examples of climate adaptation, partnership working, and environmental innovation.

From natural flood management techniques and wetland restoration to integrated water storage and community-led initiatives, we’ve created a suite of accessible, story-led videos designed for a wide range of audiences—from policymakers and stakeholders to local communities and the general public.

Working closely with the Partnership and local project teams, we’ve taken a documentary-style approach, combining interviews, site footage, and supporting visuals to explain both the 'why' and the 'how' behind each project. The result is an evolving video campaign that captures the scale, diversity and urgency of the work being done to secure the Severn’s future.

The Result

These films have become key tools in the Partnership’s communications strategy—used at conferences, in stakeholder meetings, and across digital platforms. They help demystify technical and policy-led content by grounding it in real places, people and outcomes. Each case study contributes to a wider narrative of resilience, innovation and cross-border collaboration.

This is an ongoing project, and we continue to work alongside the River Severn Partnership to document the evolving story of a catchment adapting to a changing world—one initiative at a time.
